Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.
The most interesting but equally complex part of the wheel production is certainly a carbon fiber rim production, especially when most of the process is done by hand:

Of course, all those benefits comes with a weight penalty of having additionally 15g per rim. Due to the fact of having smaller hole in the place where the rim is the thickest, the rim weight raised up for about 15g per rim, or even more.
But nevertheless, even with this weight penalty, every Bellani rim you go with, will be one of the lightest you can find on the market. All this tells about the High Carbon Grade fiber we are using in order to mitigate all those challenges.
Every Bellani rim is a tubeless ready by design, by applying hookless rim design. Following this design given on the right, there are two important details ‘rim bead lock’ and ‘rim bead seat’.
Those two things will ensure that the tire sits firm and tight to the rim on low pressures, but also once the tire is punctured and the air gets out of the tire completely.
We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

This hub has been produced on high precision CNC machine, using quality aluminum alloy of 6082 and 7075 series (T6 threated).
The hub is light and sturdy at the same time, incorporating new innovative Convex/Concave ratchet design. Due to its hollow design weight is further reduced, and its Convex/Concave shape provides a necessary ratchet strength, bigger engagement surface and better self positioning of the ratchets itself.
Top quality aluminium alloys and CNC machining
Hub has been produced out of the top quality aluminium alloy 6082 (T6) and 7075 (T6). Different stages of processing has been utilized on 5 axis CNC machine.
Innovative ratchet design and less weight
Bellani Convex/Concave Ratchet concept gives a lighter ratchet system, compared to a Classic DT Swiss System. Due to its hollow design we have reduced the weight while its Convex/Concave shape gives a necessary strength and enabling better self positioning of the ratchet itself, at the same time. Additionally, utilizing a flat spring design, system demands only one spring to function correctly. The Classic DT Swiss Ratchet System requires two springs to function correctly.
Great rolling performance and bearing lifetime
Most (if not all) of the Super Light hubs on the market are reducing weight by installing small size bearings. Due to the clever hub design and CNC precise machining of the hub cartridge and light Convex/Concave ratchet, this hub has enough room to utilize the 6902 bearings, still keeping the weight in Super Light league. These bearings are the golden standard for all hubs looking to be durable and have a great rolling performance.
Complete engagement and greater system reliability
As per Convex/Concave Ratchet design, one side of the system is fixed, while other is self positioned against the first one. Using a flat (and thick) spring design and extruded groves inside the hollow ratchets, spring is fixed in place and pushing strong one side of the ratchet constantly, without been able to get jammed between the axle and the ratchet itself. All these facts will count for a faster and complete engagement, resulting in a greater reliability.
System durability
What Convex/Concave Ratchet System makes great is the fact that all teeth on each of the ratchet sides engage simultaneously, every time. In the case of pawl hubs, the engagement surface area is rather small. This inovative Convex/Concave design provides a bigger face surfaces that will engage with each other, resulting in a much smaller point load. The result is a reliabile and durable hub.

Having a performance in mind as a first priority, this type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T800, cut in different directions and layered up together. Inner hole of the rim has been additionally layered with the carbon fiber cloth (3K Net, 1×1, 210g/m2), acting as reinforcement tube inside of the rim itself. This gave us a new level of stiffness and impact distribution.
Due to the high cost of the rim customization we do, the outcome price of the rim in production is very high.
In order to keep the wheelset price low as possible, we had to produce high quality hubs that can match the quality of other high brand hubs. The cartridge of the hubs have been CNC machined in order to support our custom designed Convex/Concave Ratchet.

We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

This type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T1000, cut in different directions and layered up together. Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.
