KAKO JE POČELO?

Kao i većina klinaca, obožavao sam Goricom i okolicom tumarati biciklom. Starci su me u par navrata učili voziti bicikl ali ipak sam, igrajući se s ekipom u kvartu jednog dana, spustivši se niz dostavnu rampu, moment i momentum otkrio sam. Bio je to za mene eureka trenutak, trenutak kada sam otkrio pedaliranje. Djetinjstvo sam proveo na biciklu. Od glumatanja BMX bandita po goričkim gradilištima, igranja lovica na nekadašnjem Trgu Veljka Vlahovića, obilaska okolnih sela i jezera te vožnje na zadnjem kotaču kroz cijeli grad.  Ipak, pravog sam se bicikliranja uhvatio u tridesetima kad sam si priuštio prvi ozbiljan bicikl, i time nakon duge pauze ponovno potpalio strast za tim sportom.

ZAŠTO VOLIM BICIKL?

Volim ideju koja stoji iza bicikla. Naizgled jednostavan sklop cijevi i kotača koji nam je omogućio gotovo neograničenu i besplatnu slobodu kretanja. Toliko je efikasan da s istim utroškom energije možemo proći tri puta duži i brži put kretanja u odnosu na hod.

Da nije bilo bicikla, kuglični ležajevi bi vjerojatno duže tražili svoj put u praktičnoj primjeni. Da nije bilo bicikla, gospodin Dunlop vjerojatno ne bi izumio pneumatike. Da nije bilo bicikla, emancipacija kroz slobodu kretanja i slobodu izbora, vjerojatno bi mnogo kasnije dobila zamah.

Indirektno i direktno, bicikl nam je pomogao u oblikovanju društva i društvenih dostignuća kakve danas poznajemo.

ZAŠTO VOLIM BICIKL?

Volim biti u garaži. Volim bicikl. Našao sam svoj put.

Ubrzo nakon kupnje prvog ozbiljnog bicikla, odbacujem svoj dotadašnji hobi i preusmjeravam svoju strast za šarafljenjem, fabranjem, brušenjem i piljenjem u održavanje svog bicikla.

Jedan od prvih poteza u tom smjeru mi je  bila nabavka dvije enciklopedije, vrsnog američkog majstora Leonnarda Zinna, koje su mi pomogle otkriti male tajne i velika znanja. 🙂

S vremenom, novi hobi prerasta u moj posao; prvo kod jednog od najstarijih majstora u Zagrebu, a kasnije i kod jednog od najvećih trgovaca u državi. Na tom putu, kroz prodaju bicikala i opreme, uviđam kolikima je bicikl osobna i draga stvar. S obzirom da sam i sam biciklist, odlično sam razumio probleme i potrebe klijenata.

S vremenom se iz prodavača profiliram u servisnog savjetnika i podršku kupcu. Mehaničarska znanja, iskustvo i entuzijazam mi omogućuju da kroz posao servisnog savjetnika, klijentima ponudim uštedu vremena i novca, dajući im najbolja i najkvalitetnija rješenja, savjete i usluge.

Radna iskustva i edukacije me s vremenom osnažuju u ideju o pokretanju vlastitog posla.

Kada znamo da je bicikl za servis?

Postoje servisni intervali, najzdravije bi bilo minimalno jednom godišnje doći u bike shop i pregledati ga, ne vidimo svi uvijek sve, profesionalac će uočiti neke stvari i time prevenirati veću štetu. Takva kontrola jednom godišnje košta ništa, odnosno košta nešto malo vremena. Postoje ljudi koji su jako pedantni i koji razmišljaju preventivno,  pa dođu jednom godišnje, imam doista puno takvih ljudi, ali ima i ljudi koji kad je već sve gotovo strgano ili potrošeno dođu po pomoć, a tada servis može koštati poprilično. Nailazio sam na situacije kada se zbog toga više isplatilo kupiti novi bicikl nego popravljati stari

Having a performance in mind as a first priority, with 28mm in height and 320g in weight, this rim is one of the lightest and stiffest rims in the SuperLight league. This type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T1000, cut in different directions and layered up together. Inner hole of the rim has been additionally layered with the carbon fiber cloth (3K Net, 1×1, 210g/m2), acting as reinforcement tube inside of the rim itself, defining a new level of stiffness and impact distribution. However, additional reinforcement net adds to a rims weight, so in order to stay in SL weight class, we had to use high ratio of T1000 UD for the rest of the rim structure.

  • Being 27mm wide internally (33mm externally), it will keep you firm and stable at cornering on any XCO, XCM or trail track
  • When paired with our Bellani XC King Hubs, CX Sapim Ray spokes and Alu Inverted Nipples, the weight of the wheels set is less then 1220g
  • Rim height is 28mm, which is higher from the other rims on the market, siting in the SL league, while higher rim means better impact resistance and better aero profile
  • Internal nipple design, demands smaller spoke hole, which means less fibers been broken and thus making the rim stiffer and durable, adding to better aero profile and great design

Due to the high cost of the rim customization we do, the outcome price of the rim in production is very high.

In order to keep the wheelset price low as possible, we had to produce high quality hubs that can match the quality of other high brand hubs. The cartridge of the hubs have been CNC machined in order to support our custom designed Convex/Concave Ratchet. 

Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.

The most interesting but equally complex part of the wheel production is certainly a carbon fiber rim production, especially when most of the process is done by hand:

  • carbon fiber prepreg selection and cutting to a specific size and shape
  • layering carbon fiber stripes into the mandrel tool by hand
  • cleaning and preparing the mold
  • positioning rim layer-up configuration into the mold
  • depending on the rim type and the resin used, curing time can last from 1h up to a several hours
  • drilling holes and painting are two final steps of this process
  • as part of the QC, flatness and roundness indexes are checked, making sure they are below 0.02mm

Combining high-grade carbon fiber T800, right curing time, temperature and pressure inside the mold, gave us one of the lightest rims you can find on the market, with moderated stiffness providing control and comfort during long XC marathon races.

Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which means less carbon fiber strings been disrupted, boosting the stiffness and durability of the rim. This Bellani rim is one of the lightest you can find on the market, respecting the height and width of the rim profile, and inner nipple design at the same time. Being light and stiff, it is still proportionally elastic in order to moderate all impacts while driving over rocky and steep descents.

This makes a rim stronger, due to the less carbon strings are being disrupted, but also gives a more fluent design and aero profile while keeping nipples ‘hidden’ inside of the rim.

Of course, all those benefits comes with a weight penalty of having additionally 15g per rim. Due to the fact of having smaller hole in the place where the rim is the thickest, the rim weight raised up for about 15g per rim, or even more.

But nevertheless, even with this weight penalty, every Bellani rim you go with, will be one of the lightest you can find on the market. All this tells about the High Carbon Grade fiber we are using in order to mitigate all those challenges.

Every Bellani rim is a tubeless ready by design, by applying hookless rim design. Following this design given on the right, there are two important details ‘rim bead lock’ and ‘rim bead seat’.

Those two things will ensure that the tire sits firm and tight to the rim on low pressures, but also once the tire is punctured and the air gets out of the tire completely.

We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

Due to the high cost of the rim customization we do, the outcome price of the rim in production is very high.

In order to keep the wheelset price low as possible, we had to produce high quality hubs that can match the quality of other high brand hubs. The cartridge of the hubs have been CNC machined in order to support our custom designed Convex/Concave Ratchet. 

Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.

The most interesting but equally complex part of the wheel production is certainly a carbon fiber rim production, especially when most of the process is done by hand:

  • carbon fiber prepreg selection and cutting to a specific size and shape
  • layering carbon fiber stripes into the mandrel tool by hand
  • cleaning and preparing the mold
  • positioning rim layer-up configuration into the mold
  • depending on the rim type and the resin used, curing time can last from 1h up to a several hours
  • drilling holes and painting are two final steps of this process
  • as part of the QC, flatness and roundness indexes are checked, making sure they are below 0.02mm

Combining high-grade carbon fiber T800, right curing time, temperature and pressure inside the mold, gave us one of the lightest rims you can find on the market, with moderated stiffness providing control and comfort during long XC marathon races.

Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which means less carbon fiber strings been disrupted, boosting the stiffness and durability of the rim. This Bellani rim is one of the lightest you can find on the market, respecting the height and width of the rim profile, and inner nipple design at the same time. Being light and stiff, it is still proportionally elastic in order to moderate all impacts while driving over rocky and steep descents.

Having a performance in mind as a first priority, this type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T800 and T1000, cut in different directions and layered up together. Inner hole of the rim has been additionally layered with the carbon fiber sheet (3K Net, 1×1, 210g/m2), acting as reinforcement tube inside the rim itself.

Additional reinforcement defines new level of stiffness, but also adding to a rim weight as well. So, in order to stay in SL weight class, we had to use high ratio of T1000 UD for the rest of the rim structure. Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which means less carbon fiber strings been disrupted, boosting the stiffness and durability of the rim.

Every watt you put to the pedal, will be transferred right to the ground.

Every spoke hole of the rim is the weakest point of the rim structure. Regular carbon fiber rims on the market have a spoke hole that is 4.5~4.7 mm wide. In order to mitigate this structural impact, we have decided to use concept of the small spoke holes 2.5mm wide.

This makes a rim stronger, due to the less carbon strings are being disrupted, but also gives a more fluent design and aero profile while keeping nipples ‘hidden’ inside of the rim.

Of course, all those benefits comes with a weight penalty of having additionally 15g per rim. Due to the fact of having smaller hole in the place where the rim is the thickest, the rim weight raised up for about 15g per rim, or even more.

But nevertheless, even with this weight penalty, every Bellani rim you go with, will be one of the lightest you can find on the market. All this tells about the High Carbon Grade fiber we are using in order to mitigate all those challenges.

Every Bellani rim is a tubeless ready by design, by applying hookless rim design. Following this design given on the right, there are two important details ‘rim bead lock’ and ‘rim bead seat’.

Those two things will ensure that the tire sits firm and tight to the rim on low pressures, but also once the tire is punctured and the air gets out of the tire completely.

We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

Having a performance in mind as a first priority, this type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T800, cut in different directions and layered up together. Inner hole of the rim has been additionally layered with the carbon fiber cloth (3K Net, 1×1, 210g/m2), acting as reinforcement tube inside of the rim itself. This gave us a new level of stiffness and impact distribution.

  • Being 30mm wide internally (35mm externally), it will keep you firm and stable at cornering on any XCO, XCM or trail track

In order to keep the wheelset price low as possible, we had to produce high quality hubs that can match the quality of other high brand hubs. The cartridge of the hubs have been CNC machined in order to support our custom designed Convex/Concave Ratchet. 

Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.

The most interesting but equally complex part of the wheel production is certainly a carbon fiber rim production, especially when most of the process is done by hand:

  • carbon fiber prepreg selection and cutting to a specific size and shape
  • layering carbon fiber stripes into the mandrel tool by hand
  • cleaning and preparing the mold
  • positioning rim layer-up configuration into the mold
  • depending on the rim type and the resin used, curing time can last from 1h up to a several hours
  • drilling holes and painting are two final steps of this process
  • as part of the QC, flatness and roundness indexes are checked, making sure they are below 0.02mm

Combining high-grade carbon fiber T800, right curing time, temperature and pressure inside the mold, gave us one of the lightest rims you can find on the market, with moderated stiffness providing control and comfort during long XC marathon races.

This makes a rim stronger, due to the less carbon strings are being disrupted, but also gives a more fluent design and aero profile while keeping nipples ‘hidden’ inside of the rim.

Of course, all those benefits comes with a weight penalty of having additionally 15g per rim. Due to the fact of having smaller hole in the place where the rim is the thickest, the rim weight raised up for about 15g per rim, or even more.

But nevertheless, even with this weight penalty, every Bellani rim you go with, will be one of the lightest you can find on the market. All this tells about the High Carbon Grade fiber we are using in order to mitigate all those challenges.

Every Bellani rim is a tubeless ready by design, by applying hookless rim design. Following this design given on the right, there are two important details ‘rim bead lock’ and ‘rim bead seat’.

Those two things will ensure that the tire sits firm and tight to the rim on low pressures, but also once the tire is punctured and the air gets out of the tire completely.

We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

Every Bellani rim is a tubeless ready by design, by applying hookless rim design. Following this design given on the right, there are two important details ‘rim bead lock’ and ‘rim bead seat’.

Those two things will ensure that the tire sits firm and tight to the rim on low pressures, but also once the tire is punctured and the air gets out of the tire completely.

We experienced this couple of times already, during the race, but kept driving for a mile or two, on flat tires through woods and rocks just to finish the race, keeping the rim safe and protected due to this feature.

This type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T800, cut in different directions and layered up together. Combining high-grade fibers, right curing time, temperature and pressure inside the mold, we got one of the lightest rims you can find on the market, but remarkably stiff in the same time. Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which also adds to the stiffness and durability of the rim.

  • Being 30mm wide internally (35mm externally), it will keep you firm and stable at cornering on any XC or trail track
  • When paired with our Bellani XCM 220 Hubs, CX Sapim Ray spokes and Alu Inverted Nipples, the weight of the wheels set is around 1350g
  • Rim height is 25mm, which is higher from the other rims on the market, and quite light for trail wheel, while higher rim means better impact resistance
  • Rim has an asymmetric profile, which will add to the stiffness of the rim and better tension distribution when lacing the rim
  • Internal nipple design, demands smaller spoke hole, which means less fibers been broken and thus making the rim stiffer and durable, adding to better aero profile and great design

Due to the high cost of the rim customization we do, the outcome price of the rim in production is very high.

In order to keep the wheelset price low as possible, we had to produce high quality hubs that can match the quality of other high brand hubs. The cartridge of the hubs have been CNC machined in order to support our custom designed Convex/Concave Ratchet. 

Using quality materials for the hub cartridges like 6061 T6, 6082 T6 and/or 7075 T6, and precise CNC machining, we managed to produce high quality hubs at the acceptable price, and thus keeping the wheel set price more affordable then the other carbon fiber wheels sets on the market.

The most interesting but equally complex part of the wheel production is certainly a carbon fiber rim production, especially when most of the process is done by hand:

  • carbon fiber prepreg selection and cutting to a specific size and shape
  • layering carbon fiber stripes into the mandrel tool by hand
  • cleaning and preparing the mold
  • positioning rim layer-up configuration into the mold
  • depending on the rim type and the resin used, curing time can last from 1h up to a several hours
  • drilling holes and painting are two final steps of this process
  • as part of the QC, flatness and roundness indexes are checked, making sure they are below 0.02mm

Combining high-grade carbon fiber T800, right curing time, temperature and pressure inside the mold, gave us one of the lightest rims you can find on the market, with moderated stiffness providing control and comfort during long XC marathon races.

Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which means less carbon fiber strings been disrupted, boosting the stiffness and durability of the rim. This Bellani rim is one of the lightest you can find on the market, respecting the height and width of the rim profile, and inner nipple design at the same time. Being light and stiff, it is still proportionally elastic in order to moderate all impacts while driving over rocky and steep descents.

Having a performance in mind as a first priority, this type of Bellani rim is made out of the High-Grade UD carbon fiber T800 and T1000, cut in different directions and layered up together. Inner hole of the rim has been additionally layered with the carbon fiber sheet (3K Net, 1×1, 210g/m2), acting as reinforcement tube inside the rim itself.

Additional reinforcement defines new level of stiffness, but also adding to a rim weight as well. So, in order to stay in SL weight class, we had to use high ratio of T1000 UD for the rest of the rim structure. Internal nipple design demands smaller holes in rim structure, which means less carbon fiber strings been disrupted, boosting the stiffness and durability of the rim.

Every watt you put to the pedal, will be transferred right to the ground.

Every spoke hole of the rim is the weakest point of the rim structure. Regular carbon fiber rims on the market have a spoke hole that is 4.5~4.7 mm wide. In order to mitigate this structural impact, we have decided to use concept of the small spoke holes 2.5mm wide.

This makes a rim stronger, due to the less carbon strings are being disrupted, but also gives a more fluent design and aero profile while keeping nipples ‘hidden’ inside of the rim.

Of course, all those benefits comes with a weight penalty of having additionally 15g per rim. Due to the fact of having smaller hole in the place where the rim is the thickest, the rim weight raised up for about 15g per rim, or even more.

But nevertheless, even with this weight penalty, every Bellani rim you go with, will be one of the lightest you can find on the market. All this tells about the High Carbon Grade fiber we are using in order to mitigate all those challenges.
